DESCRIPTION:57% of undergraduates at MSU Denver are the first in their fam
 ilies to pursue a 4-year college education\, typically referred to as “fi
 rst-generation college students.” Understanding our first-generation stud
 ents\, who are the majority of Roadrunners\, is crucial to MSU Denver’s o
 ngoing mission of constructing an equitable and socially just institution
 al culture. Relationships with faculty and staff are especially central t
 o the success of first-generation students\, who may face heightened alie
 nation and isolation in higher education. These Faculty Learning Communit
 y sessions will provide strategies and best practices for supporting firs
 t-generation college students. The in-person location will vary each week
