DESCRIPTION:This show celebrates the music of Thelonious Monk\, one of the
  most original and influential composers and pianists in the history of A
 merican music. The program features a wide selection of Monk's compositio
 ns—from beloved classics to lesser-known gems—alongside music by some of 
 his closest collaborators. The distinctive sound of the vibraphone holds 
 a special place in Monk's musical legacy through his early collaborations
  with Milt Jackson and this quartet thoughtfully draws upon that history.
  Alec Streete is a vibraphonist\, composer\, arranger and producer from D
 enver\, Colorado. He has performed and studied with Paul Romaine\, Dave L
 iebman\, Eric Gunnison\, Greg Gisbert\, Brad Goode\, Greg Osby\, Terrell 
 Stafford\, Ron Miles\, Shane Endsley\, Ed Simon\, Matt Brewer\, Julian La
 ge\, Jason Moran and others. Alec's Quartet features: JJ Mazza - drums\,
