Castro Professorship Keynote - Featuring Dr. Olivia Navarro-Farr
Thursday, October 8 · 12:30 pm–1:45 pm
at St. Cajetan's Center (SA)

Unearth the stories the land still holds at this year's Richard T. and Virginia M. Castro Distinguished Visiting Professorship, featuring archaeologist Olivia Navarro-Farr, Ph.D., whose team uncovered the royal tomb of Lady K'abel, a Maya warrior queen whose power had been hidden for more than a millennium. As co-director of the Guatemalan-U.S. El Perú-Waka' Archaeological Project, Navarro-Farr has spent two decades revealing how ancient Maya women shaped politics, ritual and memory. For the theme Lo que la Tierra Recuerda: Memory, Regeneration & Ancestral Knowledge, she will explore what the earth remembers and how ancestral wisdom can guide us toward healing and renewal today. Join us for the keynote Thursday, Oct. 8, at 12:30 p.m. in St. Cajetan's Center, as MSU Denver continues a 29-year tradition of bringing nationally recognized Latine voices to campus in honor of the Castros' legacy.
