Dave Hanson Quintet

Acclaimed Colorado pianist, arranger and composer Dave Hanson has assembled a vibrant, multi-generational ensemble for this special night at Nocturne. This brilliant quintet comprised of Adam Gang (tenor), Zach Rich (trombone), Gabe Rupe (bass), and BK Braxton Kahn (drums) will explore a mix of reworked classics and moving originals. Dave Hanson is an accomplished arranger, composer, and pianist who has written for a diverse range of artists and ensembles, including the Boston Pops, Denver Brass, Boulder Brass, USAF Falconaires, Paul Winter and more. He is co-leader and arranger for the critically acclaimed H2 Big Band. Dave was a long time faculty member at the Lamont School of Music at Denver University retiring in 2025. In an educational encore, he has recently become a part of the music faculty at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
