Paul Ricci and Mafalda Minnozzi

Internationally renowned singer Mafalda Minnozzi makes a rare appearance in Denver after a year of touring in the US, Brazil and Europe, building on the success of her latest album RIOFONIC. Mafalda has performed with legends like Milton Nascimento, Joao Bosco, Leny Andrade, Dave Liebman, Joe Locke, John Patitucci and others. She was recently awarded an Italian presidential medal for her work merging Italian culture with Jazz and Brazilian music around the world. Joining her will be her longtime guitarist, musical partner, and producer Paul Ricci. Paul Ricci , a New York native, graduated from the New England Conservatory in 1980 and has built an enduring career as a guitarist, arranger, and producer. He became a key figure in the NYC Brazilian and jazz scene and has worked extensively with Bebel and Astrud Gilberto, including the 1991 Stan Getz tribute at the Hollywood Bowl including Roy Haynes, Gary Burton, Kenny Barron and George Mraz . Paul's versatility has carried him into Latin and Caribbean music and collaborations with Grammy-nominated drummer Bobby Sanabria and his band ''Ascension''.
