Alec Streete Quartet

This show celebrates the music of Thelonious Monk, one of the most original and influential composers and pianists in the history of American music. The program features a wide selection of Monk's compositions—from beloved classics to lesser-known gems—alongside music by some of his closest collaborators. The distinctive sound of the vibraphone holds a special place in Monk's musical legacy through his early collaborations with Milt Jackson and this quartet thoughtfully draws upon that history. Alec Streete is a vibraphonist, composer, arranger and producer from Denver, Colorado. He has performed and studied with Paul Romaine, Dave Liebman, Eric Gunnison, Greg Gisbert, Brad Goode, Greg Osby, Terrell Stafford, Ron Miles, Shane Endsley, Ed Simon, Matt Brewer, Julian Lage, Jason Moran and others.
