Lazo Empanadas
Argentine empanadas by the piece, doors open from ten every day
The first Lazo, on 22nd just off Larimer, selling handmade Argentine empanadas by the piece: beef, spinach, chicken, ham and cheese, plus sweet ones, with chimichurri on the counter. Three or four makes a meal for roughly the price of a sandwich. It opens at 10am daily and runs to 9pm most nights, 10pm on Friday and Saturday. There are seven Lazo counters around Colorado now, from the 16th Street mall to Frisco, but this is the one that started it, and it is a two-minute walk from the ballpark gates.
Why go. Fast, cheap, portable food a couple of minutes from the Coors Field gates.
They travel well, so buy a bag on the way in rather than paying stadium prices inside.
