Ball Arena

Ball Arena opened in 1999 as the Pepsi Center and took its current name in 2020. It is home to the Denver Nuggets, the Colorado Avalanche and the Colorado Mammoth, and it takes nearly every arena-scale tour that comes through Colorado. It sits on the far side of Speer Boulevard from LoDo, on Kroenke's 55-acre sea of parking lots, which is where the next chapter is: in July 2026 Denver City Council approved the agreement for the Wynkoop Crossing pedestrian bridge over Speer, the first piece of a redevelopment that will eventually put housing (some of it mass timber, targeted for 2032) around the arena. Inside, 24 luxury suites were being renovated in summer 2026. Ball Arena's own light rail station (E and W lines) is on the west side; the walk from Union Station is about 15 minutes.

Why go. If it is a Nuggets or Avs night or an arena tour, this is where Denver is.

Skip the lots and walk from a LoDo bar or take the light rail to the Ball Arena/Elitch Gardens stop; postgame traffic out of the lots is the worst part of the night.
