SliceWorks is the LoDo branch of the Capitol Hill slice shop, opened around 2013 after two years on Colfax, and it does the one thing the neighborhood needs at 1am: a hot, wide New York-style slice for a few dollars, cheese or pepperoni or Sicilian, handed over a counter with no fuss. Whole pies and grandma squares are there for the daytime crowd. On Friday and Saturday it stays open until 2:30am, which is why there is a line of people who just left the bars on Blake.
Why go. It is the reliable late-night slice within a block of Union Station and the Blake Street bars.
Skip the after-bar rush and go around 5pm on a game day, when slices are fresh and the line is short.
