La Loma McGregor Square

The downtown outpost of the long-running Denver Mexican restaurant, on the ground floor of McGregor Square looking onto the plaza and, past that, Coors Field. Green chile is the thing the family has been making for decades and it is what to order, with a house margarita alongside. The room is bigger and shinier than the old converted-house original, which makes it good for a group and reliable before a game. During Rockies homestands they run a buffet on the plaza side.

Why go. The closest sit-down green chile to Coors Field, with room for eight people at short notice.

Book on Resy for the hour before first pitch; walk-ups on a homestand Saturday are a long shot.
