Tamales by the dozen and green chile by the quart, sold fast
A tamale shop that spent decades on Larimer Street and now sells from 2033 Lawrence, a few blocks southwest of where it started. Tamales by the dozen, green chile, fresh salsas, and a short counter menu of burritos and tostadas. It runs 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday and from 8am on Saturday, which makes it a morning and midday operation rather than a dinner one. People buy in bulk here: a dozen tamales goes into the freezer in October and comes back out all winter.
Why go. The tamales are the point, and they are better bought by the dozen than eaten one at a time.
It closes at 5pm and all day Sunday, so this is a before-work or lunchtime errand.
