Live jazz and funk most nights, almost never a cover charge
A small, dark bar at 20th and Larimer that has been pouring under one name or another since 1933 and is now musician-owned. Live music runs nearly every night, mostly jazz, funk, reggae and blues, and mostly free. There is no bad sightline because there is barely any room, and there is a patio out back for when the horns get loud. Open 5pm to 2am Monday through Saturday. Prices are old-Denver reasonable.
Why go. Real live jazz, no cover, five or six nights a week.
Get there before the 9pm set if you want a seat within reach of the bar.
