RISE Comedy
Improv five nights a week, with a full bar in the same room
Stephen Wilder opened this on October 26, 2011 as the Voodoo Comedy Playhouse; it kept the building and changed the name to RISE. It runs original improv and sketch five nights a week alongside stand-up, and it teaches - the training program is the largest improv school in Colorado, which is why the casts on stage keep turning over. The bar is a real bar with local taps, not a two-drink-minimum shakedown, and it is a ten-minute walk from Coors Field, which makes it a workable second act after a day game.
Why go. Cheap, local, and different every night, which touring stand-up is not.
Dark Monday and Tuesday; Saturday has the earliest curtain at 5:30pm.
