Beers ordered through the old ticket windows, patio onto Wynkoop Plaza
Built into Union Station's original ticket windows, which is the whole trick and a good one: you order a beer where people once bought a berth to Chicago. Draft-heavy list, counter service, fast. The patio spills onto Wynkoop Plaza and gets the sun until late, and Friday evenings through the summer there is live music out there from five to eight. It is the least precious room in the station and the one that works for a group of eight with no reservation.
Why go. Cheap seats to the best people-watching in LoDo.
Counter service means the patio is first-come; send one person for the table and one for the beer.
