The Celtic on Market
Guinness, early soccer kickoffs and legal horse betting at 14th and Market.
The Celtic started life on Blake Street in 2000 as the Celtic Tavern and moved to this corner at 14th and Market a few years back, bringing its whiskey wall and its Denver-rare off-track betting window with it. It opens at 10:30 on weekend mornings for Premier League matches, stays open until 2am every night, and does a proper Irish menu, fish and chips, boxty, a full breakfast, alongside the pub standards. It is a five-minute walk from Ball Arena and a real bar in a stretch of Market Street that skews toward clubs.
Why go. A pub that is open early for the match and late for everything else, with the horses on the screens.
For a big soccer fixture, get there 30 minutes before kickoff; the front room fills with scarves.
