The Crawford Hotel
Sleeping inside Union Station itself, directly above the Great Hall
Denver Union Station reopened in July 2014 after a long restoration, and the Crawford took the floors above the Great Hall. Rooms come in three styles keyed to the building's past — Pullman, Classic and Loft — and the lobby is, functionally, a public train hall: you step out of the elevator into people waiting for the A Line, drinking at the bar, working on laptops. It is named for Dana Crawford, the preservationist who saved Larimer Square from the wrecking ball in the 1960s. The hotel runs a bed-and-breakfast package with a credit at the Snooze downstairs.
Why go. You can walk from your room to the airport train in about four minutes.
