Thirsty Lion Gastropub
Big-menu chain gastropub with a wall of TVs, a block from Union Station.
Thirsty Lion is a Portland-born gastropub chain with one Denver location, on the corner of 16th and Wynkoop opposite the Union Station plaza. It is built for volume: a long menu of burgers, fish and chips, bowls and flatbreads, a lot of taps, weekend brunch from 10am, and screens for every game. Reservations are accepted, which matters here on Rockies and Broncos days when the independents nearby are walk-in only. Not a place you plan a night around, but a dependable one when you need to seat eight at short notice.
Why go. Seating a group fast for a game, a brunch, or a pre-train meal near Union Station.
Reserve online on game days; the patio faces the 16th Street mall shuttle stop and fills first.
