A 1923 post office garage with a roof you can drink on
The building went up in 1923 as a garage for the U.S. Post Office, spent the 1950s to the 1980s as a tire and auto shop, then became a showroom for Weisco Motorcars, whose sign hung on long after the cars left. Before its current life it was Junction Box, home to the Wonderbound ballet company. It reopened as Asterisk in 2019 with 10,000 square feet, south-facing windows, skylights and an open-air rooftop. The name comes from the intersection outside, where Broadway, Park Avenue and Arapahoe cross at an angle that looks like one.
Why go. A big-windowed industrial room with a rooftop, five minutes from the ballpark.
Private bookings, not a bar - you get up on that roof only if you are on someone's list.
