The Cooper Lounge
Cocktails on the mezzanine above Union Station's Great Hall, in view of 17th Street.
The Cooper Lounge opened with the restored Union Station in 2014 and sits on the mezzanine level, reached by the stairs at the Wynkoop end, with the Great Hall on one side and 28-foot arched windows over 17th Street on the other. It is a proper cocktail lounge rather than a bar you lean on: seated service, a Vesper and a dirty martini done straight, a wine list, and a short plate menu until 9:30pm. Sunday is happy hour all day. Dress up a little. It is the room to take a visitor before dinner elsewhere in the station.
Why go. The best-looking drink in LoDo, and the view of the Great Hall is free with it.
Reserve on Tock for a window table on weekends; the all-day Sunday happy hour is the quiet way to see it.
