Denver's oldest church building, a synagogue for fifty years, now free art

The small stone building on the Tenth Street plaza has had four lives: an Episcopal church from 1876, a synagogue from 1903 to 1958, a working studio for the painters Wolfgang and Susan Pogzeba, and since 1976 a gallery run by CU Denver. It is the oldest standing church structure in the city. Shows rotate through student, faculty and visiting artists, admission is free, and the whole thing takes ten minutes, which makes it the easiest stop on any walk across campus. Tours can be booked by appointment.

Why go. Free, quick, and the building is older than anything else you will pass on campus.
