Scarpaletto
Downtown's last real shoe shop, fitting Italian leather since 1979
A survivor. The shop has been selling shoes downtown since 1979, and the pitch has not changed: someone measures your foot, brings out three boxes, and tells you the truth about the fit. Stock runs from Italian-made leather to the current comfort-athletic brands like On. New owners took it over in November 2025 and are keeping the format. The address is worth checking before you go: they plan to move back to their old Larimer Square storefront at 1436 Larimer around November 2026, after the block's renovation.
Why go. Actual fitting service, from people who have been doing it for four decades.
Confirm the address before you walk over; the store is due back in Larimer Square around November 2026.
