Society Sports and Spirits
Alumni sports room on Blake, an easy walk to Ball Arena
The OSM listing still calls this Society Sports and Grill; it has been Society Sports and Spirits for years. What it is: a big, loud, unfussy room of screens that sells itself on the tailgate, and it is the official alumni bar for a specific and slightly random set of teams, including the Chargers, Texans, Steelers, Iowa State, Arkansas and the Penguins. That matters, because on a Sunday you are not watching alone, you are watching with two hundred people from the same state. Kitchen runs late on weekends, and it is a five-minute walk to Ball Arena.
Why go. If your team plays and you are not from here, someone in this room is.
Check which alumni group has the room before a big game; on a Chargers or Steelers Sunday you want to be there by kickoff minus forty-five.
