Star Bar
Fifty-year-old Ballpark tavern with cheap pool and loud country nights
A narrow old-Denver tavern two blocks off Coors Field that has outlived nearly everything around it. Pool is fifty cents. There is a photo booth, a jukebox people actually feed, karaoke on Tuesday and Thursday, and live country often enough that you should check the calendar before you commit to conversation. The beer list leans local and the pours are honest. Doors at 4pm, close at 2am, every day but Monday, which is exactly the schedule of a bar that expects you after the game rather than before it.
Why go. A working neighborhood bar that never bothered to become anything else.
Tuesday and Thursday are karaoke nights; if you want to talk, come Sunday.
