Bright, boxy Colorado packs sold from a shipping-container storefront
Jedd Rose and Mark Hansen started Topo in Fort Collins in 2008 with a sewing machine in a basement and an argument that outdoor gear should be simple and last. The flagship opened here in November 2013, in the 2500 Larimer development built out of reclaimed shipping containers, and it is still the best place to see the whole line at once - the block-colored daypacks and totes the brand is known for, plus apparel that most stockists never carry. Prices are what you would expect of American-made bags rather than what you would expect of a chain.
