Austin's sushi export, eight years into a steady Denver run
Tyson Cole's Austin restaurant landed here on October 4, 2018, in a converted building a block off Larimer, and it has held its position while flashier RiNo openings came and went. The cooking is non-traditional Japanese rather than a sushi counter in the strict sense: hot plates, cured and torched fish, seasonal tastings, and an omakase if you want the decision made for you. There is a sushi bar and a patio. It is dinner only, every night, which means it is a plan rather than a walk-in.
Why go. The most consistently good sushi within walking distance of Coors Field, and it has been for years.
There is no lunch, so if you want Uchi on a game day it has to be the night, not the afternoon.
