Venice Ristorante & Wine Bar

Old-school Venetian dining and a very deep wine cellar opposite Union Station.

Venice has been on the corner of 17th and Wynkoop since 2002, and it still runs like a restaurant from that era: tablecloths, a long antipasti list, gnocchi and rigatoni in the high twenties, and a wine cellar the owners claim at more than 3,000 bottles, which they call the largest in Colorado. Executive chef Christian Delle Fave runs the kitchen. Dinner only, seven nights. It is where you take parents who want Italian and a proper wine list rather than a scene, and it works well before a show or a train.

Why go. A dependable, quiet, grown-up Italian dinner a block from Union Station.

Book on OpenTable; ask to see the wine list before you sit down if you care about that side of things.
